Review on November 1, 2020 – International Acromegaly Awareness Day

Acromegaly is a rare condition where the prevalence is 4 per million in the population.  Diagnosis might take several years, by that time quality of life has been severely affected.

WAPO proudly brings to you what global pituitary organizations arranged to advocate and raise
awareness for acromegaly, especially on November 1, 2020.
The WAPO display posters were distributed globally and we are very pleased to see most pituitary patient advocacies included the WAPO campaign posters in their local campaigns. Upon request of several patient organizations we had the posters translated in their regional language.

LATIN AMERICAN WHATSAPP GROUP
During World Acromegalia Awareness Day, we shared the anthem – chosen by all patients of the Latin
American Whatsapp group – which is a song we feel very identified with: ‘Juntos Somos Mas Grandes’
#JuntosSomosMasGrandes; #acromegaliacdmx; #pituitam; #FAETH; #wapo
